We are looking to relocate to the senioa area or surrounding area. I have been looking for some time with no luck. Everything I find turns out to be a scam! Looking for 3-4 bd single family home, pet friendly. Want to move in the begging of June. Please feel free to contact me tbrown20040@yahoo.com.

I suggest looking on Georgia MLS. The listings there are from licensed realtors.

https://www.georgiamls.com/real-estate/

Some words of caution:

1. Senoia is a small city and isn't building a ton of housing. So the pickings for rentals there will be slim. And as far as what's available, because they're only building 3,500 sq. ft. homes on 1+ acre lots, you're going to pay an arm and a leg. You may have better luck if you branch out to Newnan.

2. Coweta County was amongst those hit hardest during the foreclosure crisis. So a lot of out-of-state slumlords brought up many of the properties and are now price gougung big time (literally charging North Fulton/South Forsyth prices, minus the amenities and housing quality). And being they're slumlords not based in Georgia, a state already very unfriendly to tenants, good luck if you need a repair, finding a property without code violations or getting your deposit back.

If you're having trouble finding a decent rental, I would suggest Homepartners. With Homepartners, you have the ability to rent any home that is for sale on the market. You select the home, sign a contract with Homepartners, and Homepartners buys the home and rents it out to you. The homes are rented out at market value and the rental is a standard lease with no strings attached.

We rented a home through Homepartners when we were having trouble renting in Peachtree City. This was back when Pinewood had just come to town and there was a serious shortage of rentals of any kind. We were able to get a decent rental in the area of town we wanted through Homepartners until we were ready to buy a home in the area.

I'm not doubting your experience, but reading the Better Business Bureau website, most people have had nothing but complaints about Home Partners of America.

Yes, I am not surprised. When you rent through Homepartners, you are a renting from a billion dollar, out-of-state corporation. It is not as pleasant of an experience as compared to renting from a local landlord.

But, as long as you thoroughly read and understand the contract, it is totally fine. That contract is very much slanted in favor of the corporation and there are no deviations. But if you know that going in, there should be no unpleasant surprises. In my experience, the contract as agreed upon was followed to the letter. We also got nearly all of our security deposit back, which I understand is another frequent complaint against the company.

The rent to own option is a total scam however and I would advise anyone to not even consider it. But the lease option I found was a lifesaver when it there are literally no rentals available. Whenever we'd find one, there were usually three or four people who were ahead of us and this was outside of our preferred area or for houses that weren't in great condition.
