Sadly, it's a different world now at the EPA and the Interior Department. They are gutting the agencies, and letting donors and corporate interests run roughshod over any protections that were in place.

This is a park above parks. I have been there. It is completely intact as the article says. Some things are priceless or should be. I urge everyone to write a quick email to your local politicians and Michael Lusk at US FWS. I mean " National Geographic named one of the 100 most beautiful places on the planet." that is quite a distinction and it's right in our own back yard. This is one of those things where they say there won't be impact and if that was true, ok, but water moves and it's connected so there will be definitely be impact no matter what DuPont does.

Thanks jmatl. all true. Buddy Carter up here is a loser as well, a complete tool. Says he supported the local counties against the offshore drilling then he goes ahead and does a 180 when it comes to vote. Sad thing is if the companies did mining or oil right, and safe, I would be ok with it. But they almost never do. Can't be trusted. They ruined it for themselves. I will send Isakson a letter. We'll see. He lives close to the area and he knows what a great coast and pristine area we are blessed with and its contribution to the economy (more than the temporary boost some one time mineral extraction would give) and he may see the light.
