Actually sounds sensible. Otherwise deeper cuts would have to occur when the next recession hits.

I remember hearing about this (or similar) a week or two back out of DBHDD where all part-time staff were to be cut.



Of course, the same department has been paying a, now found guilty, sexual harasser for 15 weeks to the tune of $33,000 in just salary. Want to save money? Stop paying people on administrative leave, there are LOTS of them out there who get a paid vacation before being let go. For the 1% who get to come back, just back-pay them.



Or, they could gut the worthless HR department at 2 Peachtree who allowed this to take 15 weeks for resolution... not that it's resolved yet, the guy's been found guilty, they've claimed they would fire him... but he's still collecting pay now in week 16. Let the department heads handle the HR stuff like hiring and firing, training, etc...



Could also cut the hundreds of wasted hours every week where people sit in meetings to gain info that could have relayed via email. But I guess we're getting into a realm where you expect competency out of people, and this world isn't going back to that again anytime soon.
