If you are further South, near Big Canoe, there's a restaurant just outside the North gate of Big Canoe along Steve Tate Highway called Home. The food there is very good, great atmosphere, and the bartenders know what they are doing.

They have NC Trout on the menu that is grilled, not fried. It's always excellent.

I was just reading about Chatsworth. It seems like such an idyllic frozen-in-time town. Does anyone know anything about living there?

Agree. Home is my favorite in that area. Sourwood Cafe in the North Station center on Steve Tate not far from Home also good and they also had NC Trout.

We are looking at moving possibly to Cleveland or Gainesville GA within the next year. Can anyone tell us any information on those places? I see that White county schools is ranked pretty decent for a rural area. We've been to both in visiting, but are considering moving to be close to mountains.

I would recommend North Hall between Gainesville and Cleveland. Good schools, still scenic but lots of housing options to choose from, and still close to all the healthcare and shopping in Gainesville.

That's super helpful, thanks! My wife is excited because the hospital in Gainesville looks to be a great option for her. I want the rolling hills and hiking but being close to work (I'm in college administration) is important.
