Georgia is one of the states I've considered relocating to. I'm leaning towards north GA, maybe in the areas between south TN and Atlanta. Canton, Cartersville, Gainesville, Dalton, Rome, Dawsonville, Jasper etc. It seems cool to have both Atlanta and Chattanooga close by along with the mountains in the area. How are these areas for living? Would like low cost of living and low crime but also where jobs may be more available. Are there towns where cost of living is low and have higher paying jobs? I know that's broad, but is what comes to my mind right now. Are you glad you made the move and is it "cheaper" vs FL? I'm aware that GA has a 6% state income tax rate where FL does not have one.

Where in Florida are you moving from? It may or may not be a lower cost of living switch.

The best piece of advice anyone can get here on CD or anywhere for that matter is find a job prior to moving. The Small towns you mention all have good and bad aspects, but when it comes to living in North Georgia a job is and should be priority #1. Start there... What kind of job are you looking for? What kind of salary?

Hi:
I am not sure what types of jobs you are looking for? In the medical profession such as nursing you will probably be able to find work at one of the hospitals or long term care facilities. If you are looking for retail there is a large Walmart in Blairsville and there is a lot of fast food outlets such as Chic Filet, McDonalds, Ingles, CVS, etc. There is also an outlet mall in Dawsonville I would subscribe to the local Newspapers of the areas you are interested in and also post your resume on Indeed for job opportunities in the areas of interest I have never applied for a local job in N. GA but I wish you all the best and hope you find something. North
GA is a beautiful place to live.

I lived in Ga for about 7 months, beautiful place but the job market was horrible. Find the job first because for me I couldn’t even enjoy all that it had to offer because I was more worried about being homeless

Yeah, I moved from Apopka to Senoia which is in metro Atlanta. I'd really recommend anywhere in Coweta and Fayette County on your list as well, although it's not really close by to Chattanooga, but still about a 2 hour drive.
