I was wondering what is LaGrange,GA like ? I am thinking about relocating there or Columbus, GA when I finish my masters degree. I currently live in Huntsville, AL. I want to be close to my fiance who works and lives in Auburn,AL, but I do not really want to stay in AL. Thanks.

Well Lagrange is growing, finally since they have let in developement. Our daughter lives there and is a junior at UWG so she drives everyday. (yuck gas prices) She loves Lagrange and we will probably buy land and retire there someday. If you are looking for shopping though you would have to drive to either Newnan or Columbus or Auburn. If you are a shopper probably isn't the place for you. Curious why you wouldn't pick Auburn?

Me, too...it's actually a pretty nice town, and while I think LaGrange is as well I don't think there would be such a great advantage as to justify the commute.
Give it a chance...if the idea of living in AL is what's bothering you, all I can say is poor AL is one of the most misunderstood states in the union. And this out of the mouth of a native Georgian.

Well I'm biased so of course I would say Columbus. But realistically you should probably stick with Auburn as gas prices aren't going down and I'm sure you're going to want to see your fiancee often. They're not that far apart but far enough where you will definitely notice it in your gas tank.

Of all of the cities mentioned, you would have a better chance of getting a good job in Columbus. Columbus is the economic center of the region. It would be a 30 minute commute over to Auburn.
