Wisconsin is at least one other.

And it's not "don't have to work for anything". They still need to pass the other requirements, AND their parent needs to sign off. It's highly likely the parents will be footing the insurance bill so it's in their interest to ensure their child is ready.

Well obviously, the parents of at least 20K kids (a whopping 2/3rds of the individuals in GA who qualify for this) are merely rubber stamps.

It's a Class D license, right? Which means a curfew, and no buddies as passengers. As a parent, I would make my sons wait, but as another driver on the road, I'm not terribly concerned.

I don't have kids and don't plan on having kids.

To your first sentence, I said what I said. Some folks insisted that the parents would keep their children from doing this for any number of reasons, and yet that's clearly not happening.

Now, the rest of us responsible folks will be forced to suffer with higher insurance rates and a higher risk to our safety while sharing the roads with these 20K people who may not need to be behind a wheel
