Amenities Warner Robins
Downtown:Valdosta
Activities:Tie
Architecture:Valdosta
History:Valdosta
Dining:Warner Robins
Crime:WR better
Future Growth:
Amenities Warner Robins its just has more desirable qualities like education, better neighborhoods, great civic involvement.

Downtown:Valdosta
If WR would build a downtown like they have talked about for years, this would be a slam dunk.

Activities:Tie

Architecture:Valdosta all the way. The Spanish style architecure is really appealing and gives Vakdosta a since of place thats lacking in WR
History:Valdosta
Dining:Warner Robins
Crime:WR better
Future Growth: Both are good but WR seems to be on a lot more good list of the best and Robins is just too much of a juggernaut. I wouldnt be surprised if they put Moody on the BRAC list one day in the future as they have tried to do in the past. Although maybe not since its a fighter base with a good strategic position away from the dangers of coastal weather

I grew up in Warner Robins and lived there till I was 17.
My parents are now retired and living in Byron and sister lives in Centerville.

Robins AFB is also more than three times the size of Moody as well

Warner Robins by a country mile. Other than Valdosta having a true downtown, and more of a sense of place and history, WR pretty much wins every metric one can think of.

Also, we have to consider WR being part of the larger Macon CSA and all the extra retail, restaurants, and amenities that brings to the table, and the gap because really huge.

One other bonus that WR has over Valdosta is its proximity to Metro Atlanta.

WR wins this battle easily. If Marietta / Smyrna with Dobbins were an option, then it would be the winner hands down.

Those are all excellent points about the amenities and positive qualities that Warner Robins has as an Air Force community and I agree that a community like Marietta/Smyrna with Dobbins would place high on the list if given as an option.

Though, it probably should be mentioned that Dobbins technically is an Air Reserve Base and not an Air Force Base.

Dobbins technically has not been an Air Force Base for about 30 years, since 1992 when the federal government made Dobbins an Air Reserve Base amidst growing concerns over noise and safety of a military base in such a heavily developed area.
