Maybe? I mean, let's be real, your median black guy has a LOT more in common with a Trump supporter from west Georgia than he has with a champagne socialist woman from Decatur. The tension on this can't last forever. I don't know, it's interesting.
I have to agree with Ansley.

The GOP is positioning itself more as the uneducated lower middle class party. They have an iron grip on people that aren't historically disadvantaged, come from generations that had value in land ownership, and are now in rural areas that aren't as economically prosperous anymore. At the same time they're courting the lower upper incomes and some of the extreme upper incomes. The 10% of people who are doing pretty well, but are trying to lower their own tax rate at any and all costs. These are two groups that are also at odds with one another and you would figure should have tension.

The democratic party is courting disadvantaged and poorer people, along with their educated middle and upper middle classes. The thing is they are actually trying to give them something, Education for their children, Pre-K Programs, childcare programs for parents to work, cheaper healthcare, trying to ensure everyone can vote despite not having a driver's license, etc... This is what these people have in common. A common goal attempting to make our society better.

This is the core of the problem of your tension in the Democratic Party and the black guy should have more in common with the rural white guy theory. 1) The same issue exists in the GOP and 2) there is a core difference in what the parties offer.

What is more impressive to me is the GOP has such a tight grip on the rural, uneducated lower middle class that they are ignoring the Democratic party platform would help many of these people on health insurance costs, pre-k costs, and are often the ones help create the subsidies that give them phone and internet service that they already enjoy today.

Of course fear of racial demographic changes often give people reasons to vote against their economic self-interests.

Guess again, sporto. I was in this thread before you ever saw it. I'm sure you're supporting him solely because Trump says so, no critical thinking involved or needed.

Haha what a juvenile comment. Wouldn’t expect anything more.

Herschel Walker is one of the greatest sports heroes (if not the greatest sports hero) in Georgia’s sports history, a status which makes him the early-on front-runner in the 2022 Georgia U.S. Senatorial GOP Primary race and possibly even maybe at least a very slight early-on front-runner in the entire field that includes incumbent Democratic Georgia U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock.

But even though Walker may be the early-on front-runner in the 2022 Georgia U.S. Senate race because of his extremely high name I.D., Walker has some very notable personal and political liabilities, including his well-documented mental health struggles with Dissociative Identity Disorder, reports of erratic behavior, past threats of extreme violence against his ex-wife, questions about his Georgia residency and the very strong and unflinching support of polarizing former President Donald Trump.

If Walker is able to successfully maneuver through his notable aforementioned political liabilities, he will have a strong chance of winning the general election in 2022 and becoming Georgia’s next U.S. Senator in a mid-term election year where Republicans currently are expected to take control of at least one chamber of Congress.

But if Walker struggles even just relatively slightly during his campaign, something which may be possible given both the target-rich environment for opposition research in his personal background and the unprecedented amount of money that incumbent Georgia U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock and the Democrats are most likely to pour into the general election contest, things seem like they might could go sideways for Walker and the Republicans fairly quickly during a general election contest where Democratic attacks on Walker’s liabilities are likely to be unrelenting and merciless.

Warnock is the most vulnerable Senator up for re-election this cycle in the whole country. Our choices are just awful to be honest. I certainly don't think any of the Republicans are the answer and Warnock isn't the answer either as he had no political office experience before he was elected either. I think the likely outcome is like what happened in Alabama with Tommy Tuberville beating Doug Jones simply because of name recognition alone and Herschel wins. Either way we need better candidates.

Couldn't agree with this more.

No I'm not voting for him, but if he wins I won't be surprised. Hershel is still pretty popular in the state along with Trump. Trump relishes the role of Kingmaker and if he can help Walker win this high profile race on name recognition alone, with no prior public office experience, empty rhetoric and a checkered past (hmm all this sounds familiar) it would be a huge feather in his cap and who knows maybe even give him (Trump) the springboard to run again...it could happen.
