I am a 21F who is deciding between Stone Mountain, GA and three other cities in terms of where to permanently stay. I am considering Stone Mountain, Georgia heavily. What are some things that I need to know about Stone Mountain if I am residing there? What are some things you like and dislike about life in Stone Mountain? As a 21F, are there any places that are good for hanging out, and having a great time at ?

I know that Stone Mountain, Georgia is considered the outskirts of Atlanta. Is there any affordable housing in Stone Mountain, & why when it comes to moving to Georgia, specifically Atlanta or close to the Atlanta area, do people say "Atlanta is full, or we are full, don't move here" ?

Stone Mountain is an okay area if that is how far one’s budget takes them when it comes to housing and living costs.

Stone Mountain Village (Downtown Stone Mountain) seems to be an area on the rise as a relatively lower-cost alternative to higher-demand village areas like Downtown Decatur and within the City of Atlanta proper.

Crime can be a challenge at times in some areas.

The DeKalb County side of Stone Mountain may feature significantly more relatively affordable housing than the Gwinnett County side of Stone Mountain.

Stone Mountain is not really a trendy area for hanging out and/or having a good time socially. Stone Mountain is mostly a residential and light industrial closer-in suburban area (a place to live and/or work) that has grown up around the generally extremely popular Stone Mountain Park property.

For hanging out and having a good time, one most likely will need to head to the City of Atlanta for most social networking opportunities and fun social outings.

Some people will say that because of how the extreme population growth of the past several decades has overburdened the roads with excessive traffic congestion has helped to spike living and housing costs to levels that are unrecognizable to longtime metro Atlanta and Georgia residents... Many of whom seemingly may have been happier with their quality-of-life when the Atlanta area had far fewer residents than it does today.
