Georgia native here. I travel this country extensively and love the NW. Bartow is beautiful, too. Bartow is growing but is probably 20 years behind Cobb or Cherokee county development-wise. The schools would probably shock you as to the reduced expectations in comparison to the NW.

Bartow's native residents relate to their mountain neighbors and their east Alabama neighbors better than to their city cousins to the south in Marietta and Atlanta.

The Atlanta metroplex is, however, a constantly growing universe of non-native peoples! There are many folks here from Chicago, New Jesey, California, you name it. Many of these folks find their way to the hinterlands seeking castles for the price of their homes in their over-priced ex-homelands.

If you live out there, you can always send the kids to a private school for the difference in home prices. And every community has its pockets of culture and the cultured. Keep an open mind and be sensitive to the local customs.
