It probably won't be a lot. My 2002 honda accord ex v6 coupe only costs $200 a year.

It's called an "ad volerum" tax (spelling probably wrong). Property tax in other words, you can also call it a state rip-off. Florida and other states don't have it (you just have a tag fee), Georgia and other states do.

Just another creative way for the government to sock it to you.

Thank you so much, My Friends are moving to Mitchell Ga, He bought some property with Mobile. To save money because his home here Insurance hit the roof, But It sounds like with state sales tax, state income tax, car tax, he not going to save much, plus he will miss his friends.

Thanks so much for info

You can estimate your tax here:

http://www.etax.dor.ga.gov/ptd/cds/mvman/search.shtml (broken link)

It was actually cheaper to register my car here then in Colorado, I know other people have had similar experiences. Your going to get taxed one way or another, it just depends on what you pay in on.

Using the online calculator, when I choose Cobb county it comes up as zero tax. When I chose a few other counties, all the amounts were different. Does the amount of this tax vary by county?

Thanks,

scjr

GA pays state income tax 6%, Valorm Tax on Car Tag, 200+ Cars must be inspected. State Sales Tax 4%, Property taxes increasing more than 3% this yr. The further I ck the worse it gets.
