I am looking and looking and can't find anything. I am an executive assistant and there is nothing out there. I am hard working, efficient and need to pay my bills before I loose everything. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks I am trying to stay positive!

Here's my thoughts/experenices. I was laid off in June. I new this was coming, so I started to look in March. I have had 6 interviews since then. Nothing! All were related to the financial industry. 2 of them went to internal candidates; 1 changed the position requirememts; 2 are still in waiting (at the same bank) but seem more like their in limbo; 1 at another bank (charlotte - what a communte) is on hold due to the economy. I generally make about $100k per year but brought /paid for a house that someone who maid 60K would buy. Currently, I am working as an independent consultant (good $$ - $60 per hour); however, the assignement is up at the end of month. I also have another assignment I work on on the side - pocket change - but cannot be relied on as a source of income. But I have not found a job in metro atlanta yet. I am giving it 2-4 weeks of serious looking. I believe, however, that the number of people in metro atlanta exceed the number of jobs. That said, after my 2-4 look week (including Charlottle) I will sell my house and move back to LI. I could care less if I have to come to the closing table with a check for $30K since property values have fallen. Atlanta is nice, the housing is nice, the greenery is nice, but being able to maintain a certain lifestyle/savings is better. I'll take an old house on LI (who's prices have really dropped) to a nice new house with no job where I'm living off of savings.
