We'd like to make a day trip and have Thanksgiving dinner away from home/Atlanta this year.

I checked the websites for the Smith House in Dahlonega, Dillard House, Callaway Gardens and the Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle. So far the Blue Willow Inn offers the type of atmosphere/menu/price we would prefer. For under $25 you can enjoy a holiday buffet in a restored Southern home about an hour from Atlanta.

Does anyone know of other such places that might serve dinner on Thanksgiving day?

In Madison, Ga there is 'Ye Olde Colonial Restaurant' located in an old bank which serves breakfast and lunch, IIRC. From the description I read it could also be cafeteria style dining. It didn't say whether it was open on Thanksgiving. Madison would be a good place to visit and if anyone knows of other places to eat in this area I'd appreciate the FYI.

Thanks.

I’ll second the Bulloch House. It is open on Thanksgiving Day for lunch and costs $11.95.

Ye Olde Colonial Restaurant in Madison is a small cafeteria. Either the Bulloch House or the Blue Willow would be a better choice for Thanksgiving.

The Bulloch House does sound nice and it will be a good day trip--Warm Springs, Callaway Gardens. A little adventure.

We'll save 'Ye Olde Colonial' for another trip. There was a description of another restaurant in Madison located in a restored pharmacy that sounded interesting.
