I am a recently divorced mom of two young children, I will be relocating from New Jersey to Georgia to be closer to my family. I had applied for low income/affordable housing in Georgia about 2 years ago, and I have received notice that my name will soon approach the list for an apt named Gateway Manor on W. Trinity in Decatur. Does anyone here know anything about that building, the area around it. Is it a decent bldg, or should I keep looking. My children are 4 and 6. My family that lives in Georgia lives in The Buford area and are not familiar with the apt. Thanks for any information provided!

There are several posters in the Atlanta forum that might have more FYI on these apartments. There is some public housing on the south side of Decatur that is decades old and I don't think the accomodations could be very good. W. Trinity might be a different property and you could be assigned worse locations than Decatur. I'm not certain you would have the option to keep looking as there is little money available for subsidized housing.
