Are any north Georgia lakes clear enough for snorkeling?
Part of the year?
Anytime?
Never?
Specifically:
[] Blue Ridge Lake
[] Nottely Lake
[] Lake Burton
[] Chatuge Lake

TIA

Oh I think they are clear enough... but not nearly warm enough for me!! I miss fresh water diving, I used to snorkel/scuba a lot in fresh water. But I can no longer handle the cool water it takes to have clear fresh water. Enjoy... I will watch from shore!!

Yes they are clear enough. However they are very cold. I am certified and have never dived any of those lakes. I do have friends who have dived them with cold weather suits. If that is your thing you will enjoy these lakes. For me, it is the Cribb!

I think Chatuge would be a very interesting dive considering the history of this lake. Who knows what's still standing but the lake was created when the TVA flooded the valley and part of the town. There's actually a graveyard on an island in that lake.
I think it would be clear enough but like some others have stated it's very cold, even in the summer time. When I've been swimming there, as you move through the water you can feel the various fresh water springs as they travel through the lake.
