Interesting. So the White population is growing in numbers but not in percentage of the state.

By the way, where did you get this info?

The black population has also increased in real numbers but only a 1% increase in percentage of the total. The biggest increase is in hispanics.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with the Hispanic numbers over the next couple of years. Anecdotally, it seems that many Hispanics are leaving the state. I had someone from Hall County tell me that this trend is especially noticable in the schools there. There have also been several recent news articles pointing to Hispanics leaving the state due to the economy and increased enforcement.

Just my own personal prediction but I think over the next decade we will see the hispanic growth continue but become more like the white and black populations with continued rise in sheer numbers but a slower growth percentage. The greatest percentage gains will steadily grow to become mostly asian over the next 20 years before leveling out as well. While not noted as well as the others I think that we will also begin to see a large increase of middle easterners and indians (India).

At some point, Hispanics will outnumber blacks in Georgia. They already outnumber blacks nationally. Now that should be pretty interesting.

As stated, this information can be obtained from the Census Bureau. You can also see it displayed on a map here:

I've just stumbled upon this site and seems pretty neat for anyone interested in a quick look at a neighborhood or area.
