Agree that in Atlanta, Dekalb County, Decatur, and much of Fulton countly will be more "liberal". Areas like Virginia Highlands and Little Five Points, as well as areas around the Carter Center and presidential parkway (there was a lot of new growth around there as the city was gentrifying) will be more liberal-democratic in their thinking. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to live amongst like-minded people. Good for you for wanting what makes you feel comfortable.

College towns are also traditionally pretty liberal, so I agree as well with the recommendation of Athens if you dont want to be in metro Atlanta.

Augusta especially richmond county has a high concentration of democrats.
