The difference is that illegals, in general, take away jobs. Businesses hire them to avoid the socialist overhead from hiring "legals".
Many illegals send their earnings to their home countries, where the money is spent on their family's needs. But that means the money isn't being spent here - which hurts our local economy.
And lastly, by abusing our socialist institutions, they burden tax payers.

If you want to see inhumane laws for illegal immigrants, check out Mexico's laws.
Immigration Reform? Let's Try Mexico's Immigration Law!

The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens -- and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens,legal and illegal.

I cant believe this is even a debate! People that break the law should be punished, end of story. I'm sorry I work to hard to have my tax dollars go to someone that shouldnt be here, I also don't want my children around them. Many gang members are illegals, and many people have been killed by illegals also, look it up.

Reading some of the responses in here, you can really tell who the people are that use a bunch of racial slurs at the dinner table with friends and fam ...and then go smile in some minority person's face out in public

I think they're just regrouping. I hear the drug gangs are hiring.

I think a certain amount of debate is always healthy, at least if it doesn't degenerate into flame throwing, and while I agree that some illegals (i.e., gang members) might well be a crime problem, I don't think it's fair to generalize their activities to all illegal aliens.

I've always had the impression that most of them are here for the same reasons my own ancestors came here -- to find a better life.

That, by itself, is not a bad thing.

Now, I'm not sure why due process wasn't followed in most of these cases -- perhaps it's very hard to get into the US legally from Mexico these days. I honestly have no idea. If there are a lot of people who want to come to the US, and if they're willing to work hard and earn an honest living, I can't see why we should deny them.

Maybe we need to explore the reasons they have for coming here under the radar instead of immigrating "legally" by following due process...?? Does anyone know why that isn't done? Lack of money? Immigration quotas? What?

GOOD news is the illegal aliens are leaving Gainesville GA!!!The lawbreakers are leaving!!They are being put in jail for their crimes!!They break the law by coming here!!!Illegal is Illegal!!!They drive without a drivers license, they use our parks, pools, wic, hospitals, jails, courts, special schools for their huge families, anything and everything the honest tax payers pay for.I'm very pleased I live in an area that is proactive in ajudicating illegal aliens and putting them in jail until which time they are deported.

How would you feel if one day you went to make a major purchase and come to find out you where denied because your credit was bad due to no fought of your own. Guess what, your identity was stolen by someone in this country illegal. How would you feel if your child was not getting the education that he/she deserves because all the non-English speaking students are taking 99% of the teachers attention. Your tax payers dollars at work. How would you feel if you couldn't take your family to the hospital that used to be right down the road because they had to close. Why, too many illegal getting free healthcare and drained their finances. Your tax dollars at work. How would you feel if you took your family to the state park and your 15 year old daughter gets cat calls on multiple occasions from Mexicans. (We stopped going to the state parks because of the harassment). Your tax dollars at work. As you said, to find a better life! At whose expense? Yes, they obviosly come here for a reason, for our jobs and the money.

Cat calls? Give me a break... Those happen everywhere. I will not get into details but suffice it to say my gf or i are yet to be called anything by a hispanic (legal or otherwise). The cultural divide is there with every group and it transcends citizenship. Let me ask you this.. those people you complain about at the park, if they waved a passport at your face, would you suddenly embrace them? Didn't think so. See what I am getting at here?

Dont want illegals? Don't hire them. But no, your greed is what fuels it, then you come on the internet and whine while still hiring them. There is a saying, what you save, you end up paying in other ways. Cannot have it both ways you know.

Last time i went to the hospital and that was a lot i failed to locate a single illegal looking person, yet i could see quite the freeloaders... half of them were clearly out of a job and the other half made under the taxable income anyway. Lets round them up and send them away too, they are clearly wasting your (i meant mine but of course its all about your $ that is being wasted on corporations and yachts and planes, but thats ok isnt it) taxes.

If people were as opinionated on tackling the decades long domestic issues there wouldnt even be an illegal problem right now. The issues people are finding with illegals are issues that have been present in american society long before central america discovered there was a country to the north they can just walk across into. Stop trying to find a scapegoat and do your own part to support those you want. You might have to pay a little more to get something done but you know what, either do so or don't whine (on the internet, while calling 1800-paco in real life).

Biggest irony is that the same crap happened when the italians and irish arrived around the turn of the last century. Guess they are all mobsters and drunkards too?

Xenophobia is a drug. Not having your head up some locale is the cure. I never in my wildest dreams ever though i would write that being from the "good" immigrant heritage of the "perfect" europe but the ignorance is shining strong. Maybe its because my people were also treated like crap and i know what it is like? nah, cannot be that! I must be a liberal socialist! So save it
