Yesterday's AJC had interesting article. Governor Sonny Perude is facing a financial crisis.

Will a $21 million dollar check from Governor Sonny Perdue be in the mail and arrive at a bank on March 1? That's the date the loan money, borrowed in September, is due.

Maybe Sonny should start playing the lotto soon. Like today. Maybe Sonny should move that big Lake Lanier fishing tournament, with the big prize money, up a bit on the calendar. February, of 2009, sounds like a better fit for Sonny. If Sonny has rusty angling skills, I think he better polish them up.

Sonny, and his two agricultural businesses, borrowed $21 million dollars in September and a bank wants their money in a few months.

From what I read, it's debatable if Sonny should have gotten the loan. Apparently Sonny didn't have to put up as much collateral as you and I would be required to do. Being a powerful politician does have a few perks.

Somehow, I have the feeling Sonny will come up with the $21 million. To be perfectly honest, I don't think Sonny is losing much sleep over this. You and I would be losing sleep. Sonny has some rich and powerful friends. No doubt they will step up to the plate.

Gosh, the other day the police pulled a guy over in metro Atlanta, and he had a million dollars of hard cold cash stuffed in a case. No doubt the guy was afraid to put the money in a shaky bank. That must be it. Sure! Who trusts banks these days?

Well, let's hope Sonny gets lucky and finds 21 bags like that, each stuffed with a million dollars. Just kidding!

Unfortunately, Sonny won't be telling us much about this $21 million dollar loan. He should, but there's a strange quirk in a law. He's not running for office again, so he's not legally bound to tell us anything. Darn! I do think they need to get that law off the books.
