Please write your experience about going to Merry Acres Middle School here.

I have a child zoned for this school in a couple of years and have gotten mixed reviews about the school. Some people say they love it, and those that didn't love it have enrolled in private school. Others have decided to not give it a chance.

I am looking to be convinced one way or the other about enrolling at Merry Acres and would be interested in hearing what students' experiences there have been.

Any information would be appreciated!

I wish I could help you...when I saw the post...I had to blink a few times...I went here during 78-81 (7-9th grade). I know alot has changed from those times....and I dont live in Albany anymore...left when I was 19 yrs old.
Made some of my most dear friends there...until they rezoned my freshman yr and brought in the kids from Lake park...before they came it was a solid middle class student population...then all these kids from Lake park started with their designer polo shirts and the like....it changed the whole school environment when we average kids were all sudden "shown" what our parents couldnt afford. These kids came dressed to the nines and everything matching...and attitudes to match.

I digress...just my memories...that will have no bearing on your decision...BTW I finished my HS at Riverview Academy which is now Sherwood Christian school. From my folks who still live there...they say most everyone goes to Lee county or private. Good luck in your search and feedback.
