With unemployment in the state approaching double digits, certain areas of the state are seeing a large spike in armed robberies. Augusta, for instance, has seen armed robberies double this year, and I suspect the same is occuring in many other places in the state.

lilmusket,

I am not so sure I agree with your cause and effect here. Are you implying that in order to end all armed robberies all we need to do is employ everyone? Is the job they hold the only thing keeping your co-workers from being armed robbers? If you lose your job might we read about you holding up a convenience store? I think not. I hope not.
Some effect? Yes. But the cause? No.
