Moved to Athens/Clarke in 1960 so I have seen much change both good and bad in the area. Recently, after retirement, we moved across the county line into The Georgia Club in Barrow County. Ollie1946 touched on some of the reasons for our move.

What areas are considered "good/safe/quiet" areas in the Valdosta, Ga region...I will be moving soon and trying to decide on the area that will suit our family...We are moving for a temporary assignment 9 months (husband's job) and need to know apts. that will rent "short leases" or areas to find a house to rent "short term" as well....Realtors will not give info about the safety of an area and I don't know where to begin my seach...hence my post here.......

the law doesn't allow them to disclose such information.
the north end of town is the safest.
As for a short-term lease, that will be difficult.
