I am being transferred to a John's Creek, Ga., place of employment in October. Since I have a young kid and it's too far of a commute from where I live, I will be moving closer to that area.

I would like to find someplace within a reasonable distance of John's Creek, Ga. that has:
- simple but decent 3 or 4 bedroom homes around $150-175k
- Excellent schools
- Oakland/Decatur, Cabbagetown feel, if possible

We could rent for a while until we find someplace to buy, but I don't want to put my son (and us!) through moving any more than we need to.

Any suggestions are gratefully received.

Thanks
Jen

Would the area around Buford meet your criteria?

'Oakland/Decatur/Cabbagetown' OTP may be difficult.

Exclamation seek cautously an answere will prevail.

Why don't you lookup rent option to buy houses. lookup vacent to rent.com Or on internet they have different option keep seeking intil you are for sure you have found comforability to commute to work, and take care an provide for family.

Default John's Creek Area

I would look into the S. Forsyth county area. You are probably not going to find a house at that price in John's Creek. My husband worked there for a time so I am familiar with it a bit. The cops can't even afford to live there because the houses are too high priced for them. The schools in S. Forsyth are very nice and there are some really nice homes in Forsyth.
