Hi, I'm thinking of moving to Dublin and have been researching your city on the internet. I was wondering if I could get a little input about internet access--something I cannot live without.

I hope to forego having a telephone landline, and simply use a cell phone. So I was wondering what my options were for internet access?

I've never used wireless access before, I currently use a rural DSL provider. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who lives in Dublin and does not use a provider that requires telephone service.

How good are the services, cost comparison, etc.

Thanks in advance!

If you live in town you can get internet access through Charter. If you live in the county you will have to go with a land phone line using ATT or use satellite internet.

Among wireless providers, I do not hear recommendations for HughesNet, but hear good reviews so far in regard to Wild Blue. Both are dish providers.

Cannot personally attest, since I use Bellsouth DSL.

You can also purchase a wireless card from Verizon.

Free WiFi downtown and shopping areas. I use AT&T DSL, but Charter Cable and Wild Blue are here too. The rural telephone company does offer DSL, but you will have to check where their service is available.
