Hey every body-

I'm a 28 year old African American female (originally from Detroit, Michigan) who currently lives in Indianapolis, Indiana and unhappy with the city. I'm looking forward to moving to GA. I don't have any children However, I'm looking for a family friendly, middle class, neighborhood with plenty of jobs and cool night life. I'm young but, I'm grown. I like to party, work and live life with out drama. My focus right now is Riverdale, Georgia but, I'm not trying to move where crime is higher than normal and gangs are still the thing to do. I didn't think people still joined gangs... really!? Also, are there any suggestions?

Georgia's unemployment rate is approaching 10 percent. That is the reported figure. It is likely higher. IF you have a job, you had better work hard to keep it. It is panic time down here. If you are an RN, you can find a job. Everything else is layoff city.

My 2 cents.

I would not advise you to look at Riverdale. Clayton County (where Riverdale is located) has a fairly high crime rate, they lost school accreditation last year and as a result, home values have gone down dramatically (about half of what they were a year ago). I would look into other areas (perhaps college park or east point) if I were you.
