Like everybody else has said it will be forced upon Ga just like every other social movement in the history of this country. There is already a slim majority of US residents who support it depending on the poll you look at and regardless of the poll, the number of citizens who support marriage equality is increasing rapidly especially among those under 50. It is just a matter of time...the US Supreme Court will overturn DOMA and all state bans and GA will go kicking into acceptance. If left to the state legislature alone...I would bet it would be 2030 or later before it became legal...the USSC will rule it a civil right looooong before then.

Actually cities like Birmingham and Mobile in Alabama are surprisingly liberal when it comes to gay life. I'm sure outside of the cities it becomes very conservative - much like in Georgia.
