VALDOSTA — South Georgia residents, the local chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers and America’s Second Harvest will feed a lot of people. . . . .

. . . . . . . . Valdosta-Lowndes County and the surrounding area typically collect the second highest amount of food in the state, with only the Atlanta area collecting more. Still, per capita, Valdosta-Lowndes County collects more food in the national food drive than any other city/county in Georgia.

Macon, Columbus, Augusta, Savannah, you should all be ashamed.

Valdosta is a nice city and is one of the safest cities in South Georgia hands down. Every city has crime to some extent. I would rather live in Valdosta than Atlanta or Macon for sure.

I've always found the per capita rankings are usually meaningless, as they're never a true reflection of numbers, which is what matters in the end.

um, okay.

well, if you read the article (or even my original quote), you'll see valdosta donated more than every city in the state except atlanta; per capita, they donated more than atlanta.

and actually, they are far from meaningless.

I personally have other charities that I support. I'm glad yours does to well in Valdosta. Congratulations.
