i think that blacks tend to want things both ways: e.g. black miss america, image awards, black police officer association, black flag officer association and so on.

whites do not understand this and see it as negative to unity. it is contradictory. whites are not "allowed" to have racially exclusive organizations. blacks do. so do hispanics to a degree.

it will take many more years and several generations dying off before we might see some real daylight. we did not get into this mess quickly, several centuries. getting out will take a while as well.

i have never seen as much racial tension as i see now. hostility abounds. sad.

I think the issue is enormously overblown, but I'm not sure why anyone should be forced to socialize with those whom they do not wish.

Why do they post a picture of these black people in a row with these disgustingly mean looks on their faces and then show a picture of the white group all smiles? I live in Georgia, I have white friends and black friends. For me, my family and my friends race is not an issue. But we do see it in the world. However, contrary to popular belief, other than a few backwards white people the only people that I see who are racist are in fact african americans. We have black history day, where is white history day? You have BET, where's WET? You have black-only colleges, and they can't have a white only prom? Get rid of the black colleges and the black entertainment television, and have a United States history day instead of a black history day and then come to the white people and take away the only thing they have left. I don't believe in having anything segregated but you can't judge anyone unless you judge yourself and change yourself first. We have jobs that are never allowed to refuse a black or mexican a job, but there are plenty of places where I've gone to get a job and been basically told that I'm not able to work there and then they hire a less-experienced, less-trained, less-professional, horribly-dressed (jeans to an interview? come on) black girl because of course it would be racist to choose the white girl. I'm not racist against blacks and not many white people would be if things were REALLY equal.

It's amazing, but not surprising to me that certain people are too stupid to realize that many of these black organizations were created because black people were originally excluded from the mainstream.

And Black Colleges never were segregated. Do some research. SMH

That's what I never got. In today's world blacks are holding themselves back by having black only things because they are holding onto a racist mentality. That's why I find it foolish for black magazines, and other things, to be named after something black such as Ebony magazine. They are totally limiting themselves. Master P, owner of No Limit Records, would not be proud.

I'm not really surprised. I did think they were trying to do away with them but I guess not.

As far as black colleges well I dont' think they should be done away with. They were established when that was the only way someone black could get an education. Now there are plenty of other options. White are allowed to go to school there it's not like Morehouse or Savannah State or Fort Valley State etc are blacks only. I know a white guy that went to Savannah State and he loved it.

A girl I am currently talking to is from THAT county (Montgomery County GA).....she said whites and blacks still go to each others proms just to hang out with their friends...so it really makes no sense.
