Is W-R a more modern looking city than V-town? As far as aesthetically? Are they layed out similarly? Or is W-R more cul-de-sac type developments?

Median Household Incomes
Warner Robins: $40,930
Valdosta: $31,306

Poverty rate:
W.R.-16.7%
Valdosta-28.2%

Interesting fact that I just realized is that while the incomes are considerably higher in W.R. than Valdosta.Housing prices are higher in Valdosta

Avg House price
Warner Robins: $113,018
Valdosta: $126,475

Warner Robins does not have any colleges located inside ts city limits, but there are several in its metro and CSA.My Dad is a Dean at nearby Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley Georgia.(15min).The university has an extension also in W.R.

As I mentioned earlier,W.R. is a tad more diverse but still very Southern. Its still conservative but has a progressive attitude.People are very entrepreneurial.

Stats are fine , but I am more worried about the 'real world', lol. Are families and couples more open to talk with ya in W-R than Valdosta? or are they the types that stick to themselves and act like they are 'untouchable' more than most in Valdosta? Valdosta people so far have seemed to be able to share a lot of info about themselves and experiences with me so far. Howver, most suburbanite places usually act like theya re holding a crucifix up in front of everyone else but their own, like others are bigtime evil and they are in a league of their own.

Not at all.You have to remember that due to the transient nature of military, people tend to be pretty welcoming. There is not much difference between the two.

W-R has better neighborhoods and housing stock, but Valdosta has a nicer downtown.W-R is only about 60 years old. Valdosta is about 140 years old.

Overall, Warner Robins.

But, Valdosta is good too. And, it has the university...

...which should be re-named University of South Georgia.

I agree. I wish they had named Middle Georgia State University the University of Central Georgia, but they didn't ask me.

Back to your point, I suppose with Georgia Southern already out there, a Univ of South Georgia might make things confusing.

Georgia Southern should be University of East Georgia.

Except that Augusta is "East Georgia." Savannah and Brunswick are not. Georgia Southern Univ. is historically the main regional university of S. Georgia. Valdosta State's administration might move to make the school (at most) the Univ. of South Central Georgia, but I'd say many Valdostans will fight to keep the city in the official name.

Statesboro is in East/Eastern Georgia.
