I am considering relocating from Long Island to Gwinnett county in the next year or so. Thus far I have only done research online, no visit yet. My question is: What areas/towns are nice in Gwinnett? I am looking for a suburban area, nothing too rural. Any suggestions? Thanks for any input!!

The best part of Gwinnett area is duluth, 30097. The area near sugarloaf Country club is probably the best. A lot of athletics (Michael Vicks) live there.
Also, the area border Alpharatta is also pretty good along Peachtree Industrial.
In general, houses in Peachtree Ridge, Duluth high, North Gwinnett High are pretty good.

There maybe some good neighbors in Parkwood or Brookwood high. But I never have been there. So I am not sure.

I would agree, Duluth is very nice. Also, try Peachtree Corners in western Norcross. It's like an extention of Dunwoody (very upscale community) and is close to Buford Highway where all the good ethnic restaurants are. Just get used to fast growth. The Gwinnett you could move to this year will be very different 5, 10 , 15 years down the road.

Duluth is pretty far from airport.

I would say around 50 minutes without traffic. Much, much longer if there is any traffic. Normally, I drive to Doraville station, then take MARTA train to airport.
