Athens needs its own sub form. This is a vibrant growing city and considering all of the college students that are registered in other counties, This area has as many people in its metro as Augusta or Savannah and has just as much if not more going for it. Athens should have their own form. I go to Athens throughout the year and this would be another great way to keep up with them. Every one who lives here should write the moderators and petition for an Athens sub form. Trust me this form will get far more traffic that Savannah or Augusta.

Doubtful. How much athens traffic is in the GA forum on a daily basis? I don't think people aren't posting because athens doesn't have a dedicated sub-forum.

Athens has the University of Georgia. There are numerous college students moving in and or parents researching the area to find the best place for them to live. People in Athens donot post much now because there is not a sub form. If they post, it drops quickly to the bottom after the Columbus and Macon people post.

Does Athens have any other attraction besides the University?

I don't see that happening.

Are they above posting in the Georgia forum with all the non-ATL, SAV, & Augusta cretins?

Athens has already passed Macon and will pass Savannah in population with in the next 10 years. Athens is Georgia's version of Greenville. It has a vibrant clean downtown like Greenville. Savannah, Augusta and Columbia are similar. Greenville and Athens are similar. If Greenville has its own sub form then so should Athens.

Stating that Athens city proper population is larger than Macon's, is like saying Charlotte is truely a larger, more urban city than Atlanta based on the same thing, or like Macon is larger than Greenville, or that Jacksonville is larger than Boston.

City proper population CAN be very misleading.

The simple fact that Clarke County itself (pop. 112,760) has even less people than some of the SUBURBAN counties of the others, like Houston County (131,016) in suburban Macon or Columbia County (115,766) in suburban Augusta, lets you know enough.

This is true. Myrtle Beach though has their own sub from and Athens is way bigger than Myrtle Beach.

lol...cyclingdawg...Myrtle Beach is a VERY popular tourist destination, and also I dont understand how you can say Athens is WAY bigger than Myrtle Beach, when Myrtle Beach's metropolitan area has a population of 257,380. Athens' metro isnt even at 200,000 yet.
