I am considering a move from Southern California to Brunswick, GA. Is there anyone that can tell me something about the area? I've never really been out of Cali before, but I must move. The housing seems reasonable. Is there anything I should know about the area, the climate, the weather, etc.? I'm coming from a dry heat to a humid climate - will I die <grin> Any information that can be provided for this area would be most graciously appreciated. Thank You!

I see, Is a job a problem? That part of GA is RURAL. Also it is not that Humid at all in GA? It is a Beautiful part of the state though. Brunswick is one city I have not visited yet. I will be visiting next year when I move back though

You will be close to Florida too.

Brunswick is a very lovely city. In the past few years they have restored the downtown and now have sidewalk cafes and quaint shops. Many of the streets are draped with a canopy of moss covered live oak trees. Lots of new and old residences are restoring old in town homes. In the summer you’ll get cool breezes from the ocean and the winters are mild with very little real cold days. To the west of Brunswick across the marsh is Sea Island and St. Simon Island. The beaches are beautiful and upscale shopping if you’re into that. Also, it’s good to see how the other half lives. Sea Island Drive is one of the most expense residential streets in America. I have pics from a visit to Brunswick this past March. I’ll be happy to email them if you’ll like.

Thank you southernguyGA for your information. I am very appreciative.
Hope for the best for me, as I'm considering a drastic move.

jdaryl2002, thank you for the wonderful descriptions of Brunswick. I would love to see the pictures you mentioned.
Thanks again,
Shrijani

southernguyGA I forgot to mention that work is not an issue. I'm taking an extremely early retirement. Thank you for your help.

Yes I received your pictures...and they remind me of home. I live in a historic area (The Mission Inn) and it looks just like the Main Street mall. Thank you for your time and effort, it is most certainly appreciated. Have a great evening.

Sincerely,
Shrijani

Why not move to Jacksonville, FL or just outside the city?

St Simons Island (a causeway off of Brunswick) is GREAT. dog friendly, can walk dogs on the beach. WONDERFUL. it is one of the ONLY good things about GA. otherwise this state sucks. and the humidity is not even funny. cant wait to get the hayull outta here and to TEXAS where i belong
