Hi all! My husband is being transferred to Rome due to his job. He will be working in Rome, and we've found a beautiful subdivision in Adairsville. We are a homeschooling family, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any homeschool groups nearby. Also, is it necessary to travel to Rome for necessities such as grocery shopping, drug stores, etc? Thanks so much (in advance) for the info/advice!

You can also head down to Cartersville for shopping, which may be more convenient than going to Rome. Distance-wise it's probably similar, but you can hit Cartersville via 75, which will be faster than taking the state roads to Rome.

There's a Food Lion in a strip mall at the intersctions of highways 41 and 140 in Adairsville. There are two pharmacies on Highway 41 across the street from each other near the post office. There are also dollar type stores, auto repair and parts stores, restaurants, etc. in Adairsville. For a larger selection Cartersville or Calhoun would be the closest - plenty of shopping in both. Rome has excellent medical facilities and a lot of Adairsville residents go there for medical care.
