We are a bi-racial family looking for a place to relocate.

Can one find jobs in Forest Park?

How do folks get along as I notice that this is a very multiracial town.

What are school like?

Hows the weather?

Anything to look out for?

Thanks so much.

Forest Park is very diverse, so it should meet your needs. Crime and pollution are factors but most large cities have a similar problem.

Schools, you might want to use Google to get some ratings, but the inner city schools have more problems than the suburban ones--as a rule. But, there is so much variability form area to area you will need to do your homework.

Atlanta has jobs, services, culture, entertainment and it is very dynamic. It is probably the best city in the South for a bi-racial couple.

Default Forest Park

I am 35, i moved here at age 10.

I lived in gwinett for a few years then came back to Forest Park.

When it comes to crime in this area , yes we have some.
But, in Gwinett Co theres gangs reported on the news nightly.

I dont think it matters where you live i think alot is based on how you live.

If you are an ******* , things will happen.
If you start **** , things will happen

If you brag and boast, things will happen

I have no problems with forest park when it comes to the people here.

Im not scared here.
I was more scared in suwanee than in forest park .

Theres not a place in the world that crime doesnt happen and yes we are twice the average in crime ( based on the charts )

http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:...lnk&cd=3&gl=us

But , i hate when people in other areas rag Forest Park out.
I feel like we have a bad name

and alot of decent people live here

I have lived in Forest Park since 2004. I love it. Clayton County has a bad rep for crime, however Forest Park is not like that. We have a huge police presence and I feel safe here. I am actually moving to a larger home in Forest Park. Now I do want to mention that my husband and I do not have children, so I do not know much about the schools. I do not know many that work in forest Park unless they are in the Army (Ft. Gillem). I am so close to both 285 and 75 which is great! Forest Park is the only area I would recommend in South Atlanta.

Well, I would not trust a thing Iloveforestpark says. Having lived in Peachtree City for 18 years, the comment saying it is more relaxed is completely wrong. Some of richest most snobby people I have ever come across lived there and it was super conservative. Though Fayetteville also had its share, it was not as bad as Peachtree City. As for Forest Park, the crime can be an issue but the most troubling thing is the schools. Clayton County just lost Accreditation a couple months ago so home prices are taking a hit because of it. The area also tends to have some of the lowest test scores in the state as well. The area close to the town center may be ok, but I would most certainly avoid the area near Old Dixie Highway as well as around Jonesboro Road.
