My husband and I are moving to Georgia with my family temporarily - they're staying permanently, and we're staying a year at the most. They've picked out a house, and we'll be heading to Snellville, GA in 2 1/2 weeks to move in.

Can anyone tell me what the area is like? How's the crime rate in that area, and areas surrounding it? Is there any mountains near Snellville, or is it hopeless? Any other information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, I have lived in Snellville for the past 15 years or so. I see you are moving from Puebo Colorado. I wondered, since you asked about mountains. No, there aren't mountains in Snellville, but Stone Mountain Park (a large granite formation is nearby in Stone Mountain GA within driving distance.) There are also mountains in north Georgia if you get homesick for mountains. But on the plus side, you won't have to worry about high-altitude cooking anymore, and the weather isn't as dry as it is in Pueblo. You will find a lot of 'southern hospitality' here too. I have been blogging about Snellville for about 5 years now, and if there is any way I can help you find your way when you get here (or for info before you move here) just let me know. My blog can be found by looking up 'my snellville blog.' I'm also on Twitter @SnellvilleBlog
