55+ Retirement Communities. My wife and I are almost 54, and after dealing with many customers from Delwebb Hilton Head in Bluffton, why any one would want to live around difficult and cranky old people?

I don't know of any communities on the GA coast that are exclusively for seniors, but the Dover Bluff area in Camden County is where a lot retirees are landing. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything in the $150K range though. They'll start around $250K-$300K range and go up, up, up.

Red face I am also looking

I am looking for a 55+ area for my parents that is pretty much exactly what you are looking for except I am trying to keep them within 2 or 3 hours of Canton (north of Atlanta) as that is where I live. What they need is a townhouse or condo (they are sick of yard work) in an over 55 only community. I can't find any places that offer that without all the other food and nursing services and my parents are still to young for all of that. They want to live near a lake and near an art community (my mother paints) but they can't afford the $300,000 golf communities and don't want the yard work anyway. They want to be somewhere with other older people so they can make friends and have people to run amuck with and they don't want just any condo or townhouse that is surrounded by a bunch of college kids. If you find anything or even good sources of info please let me know because I can't find anything!!
