All-

I am ready to make moves in my life, see I live in FL and as u may know it has gotten a bit difficult to buy homes and even pay rent here. I dont have any kids but planning on them some day. I would like to know where is the best place to live in GA. I don't want to stay to close to ATL im looking for something a little slower, more laid back, but great jobs and a great place to raise kids.

FWIW, you need to find a job and then look for housing.

Others may have some generic advice on small towns in GA.

Since you don't want to live near metro Atlanta locating employment may be more difficult. jmo--but metro Atlanta is a good place for families.

good luck

sls

and find a place that 'suits' you. Get a map or Google one and pick out some towns/cities and research them.

I know that I could not live in South Georgia--too hot and not a lot of 'choice' in jobs, housing, shopping, etc.

I don't care for small towns where 'Everyone' is too interested in the affairs of others.

Default hey

Check out Dallas Ga. We have a slower lifestyle here but are about 35 minutes to downtown Atlanta. The schools are good and we are the 9th fastest growing county in the country

I agree Dallas is growing and a great "laid back" area. Same with the surrounding areas & counties. Kennesaw & Marietta in Cobb County, Cartersville in Bartow county and Woodstock & Canton in Cherokee County. Yet we are still close enough to go "downtown" to Braves games, Falcons games, the new aquarium, World of Coke, etc when we feel like it.

HI
I live in Miami FL and just got back from GA. We decided to bit the bullet and leave Miami for a nice quite neighboorhood. We chose Auburn Ga near Buford. The realtor that healped us was excellent. Let me know if you have any questions.

Columbus. Right in the middle, between fast and Slow. The people are nice and there is plenty to do, if you want to.
