We're a family from Ohio with two teenage boys, ages 16 and 14. We are looking for a city near Atlanta or Macon that is racially diverse and family friendly. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

I am never sure what the definition of "diverse" really means nor "family friendly" for that matter. Ga is very diverse in just about all areas of the state save for the mountain areas of N. GA. As for "friendly", if you could define your terms that might be helpful. Moving a couple of teenage boys is a challenge on its best day.

I pretty much agree with Ollie.
You need to be more in depth about what you mean by "racially diverse."

If by "diverse" you mean cities and communities with an abundance of many different types of races, well then pretty much that's limited to certain suburban areas of ATL.

On the other hand, it seems "diverse" to some people simply means an area where whites do not make up 85-90% of the population. If that's the case, then like Ollie said, pretty much everywhere in Georgia outside of the extreme North Georgia mountains is "diverse"

example ...many smaller counties and smaller towns in rural south, east and central GA have a higher % of African Americans than ATL.

Being a fast growing and military area, Warner Robins and Houston County, just south of Macon, is pretty diverse.
