I currently live in Lake City, FL, and my boyfriend has found a great job opportunity in Valdosta, GA, so in the near future we will be relocating there. (Which won't really uproot myself too much, I attend NFCC in Madison, FL and turns out Valdosta is closer anyways!) What I need help with is finding a home. Its hard to find rentals online for smaller towns - if I wanted to move to Orlando or Atlanta or something it would be way easier - so I want to make sure I make the best choice. I'm hoping to find a house, nothing fancy, but preferably with a yard since I have two dogs (a shihtzu and a bulldog - yes I know how horribly difficult it is to find a landlord who will accept any "bull" dog) which is why I'm probably going to rule out apartments/duplexes. I live in the backwoods now, and this is what my dogs were raised in, I'm not sure how they will act if they are crammed into a populated area, i.e. if they will bark at every tiny noise or if they will adjust.
Wow, I am rambling! Anyways, back to the point, any suggestions or references for places to live? Preferably close to the mall area. Also, I work at Wal-Mart now so I'm (hoping I can) transfer to the one nearest the mall.

If you want to be near an active commercial area, then your best bet is north of St. Augustine Road, south of Inner Perimeter Road, east of I-75 and west of Valdosta State University.
