If/When anyone from ATL ever took a visit to SAV do you notice the animosity and tension?? I remember when I visited in '08 and even though I met some hospitality and nice greetings, I mostly heard f*** Atlanta or something of that nature and I'm not bitter or exxagerating(sp?).

Can anyone from C-port/912/SAV tell me why?

I've never experienced this in Savannah.

Historically metro Atlanta has received more $$ from the state than South GA and other parts. I've heard people comment on that. I've known a few that seemed to have the proverbial chip on their shoulders and were rather quick to say--'If you don't like it here then leave.' Some were sensitive over complaints about the paper mills, the smell and the air pollution.

It's not something I hear very often either.... though I personally don't care for Atlanta due to the fact that you have to drive EVERYWHERE. Nice skyline(s) though. Something I wish Savannah had more of.

Well to be honest with ya'll I was referring to the black/hip hop communtiy. Nevertheless, I still hear it from white people and other cultures that natives of SAV have animosity for native ATLiens

Well its simple! The hip hop community in Savannah would like to be as advanced as the hip hop community in Atlanta. And personally that's not saying much about it in Atlanta. I'm a black guy myself and I'm going to say that the economy is too bad to be worrying about the rap gang and a quick hustle. Get your ass in school and make something of yourself and fit in America with normal people.

I have several friends and neighbors that have moved to Savannah over the past several years, and they have had nothing but positive experiences. "Welcomed with open arms" is all I've heard.......

Yes, I've never perceived the interaction between Atlantans and Savannahans to be anything but very positive. I think the two cities compliment each other very well, and most Georgians know that. Yin and Yang.
