My wife and I and 15 month old daughter are looking to relocate to Cartersville next summer and are looking for areas to build. Our builder is lined up and we would like to know what are some good areas, maybe some up and coming subdivisions or developments. Also, what might be some areas to avoid?

The areas to avoid would be most of the downtown area with a few exceptions. The westside of town is where a lot of new developments are going up like Carter Grove and the new extension of the Waterford. East of downtown there is a lot of development between HWY 20 and Main Street and north of town you have a few nice areas to choose. One nice subdivison that is almost complete is the Four Seasons which is on the north side of town behind Cass High School, just off of Grassdale Road.

Alot of the communities don't allow you to bring your own builder, the developer sells the lots to builders who then build the homes.

There are a few subdivision in Cartersville that have lots to purchase and you can custom build your home using your own builder. There are several available from .21 acre to 5.88 acres and the prices for the lots range from $69,900 to $2,000,000. So there is alot to consider.

I'd consider Carter Grove Plantation, at the "t'' of Douthit Ferry and Old Alabama Rd.
