Let me know what you find out about New Const. in Bridgemill. I am in contact w/ the folks at G.P. already and have all of the floor plans, etc.

The house here is priced to move. We are going to lose our shirt and won't even get what we paid for it only 3 years ago (not even counting the upgrades....it makes us sick!)

Keep those fingers crossed. We already planted St. Joseph, but if you know any other voodoo tricks we'd love to hear them...haha!

Thanks for the input!

Kim
Hi Kim I sent you a few PM's regarding things you can try to help sell your house. I'm not sure if you received them or not.

Good luck!

Thanks,

Bill

When you say new subdivision do you mean new construction or just a different subdivision than the one you currently live in?

Like always it depends on your price range. Looks like Farmington has Arnold Mill, Rusk, and Sequoyah.

The reviews of Woodstock were just as bad, but many of them offered their reason for hating the school being that their child was getting poor grades. I can't help but wonder if that is the only reason and if it's even valid in this ever-increasing enabling society we live in where no one takes responsibility for their own actions or even worse don't allow their kids to take responsibility for theirs.
Bill, I agree about parents taking responsibility and teaching their children to do the same, for the children's education. One of the comments I read, though, mentioned "drugs and violence". Though, I will say that only one comment mentioned these. We plan to go up there and tour the schools at lunch time, as well as monitor a class or two (with the principal's permission of course.) I know that this won't give us a comprehensive picture of what is going on in the school by any means, but I'm hoping it will at least give me a gut feelling. And it will give me a chance to ask the principal about my concerns.

I can't help but think though, that the school quality is going to improve in all of the Cherokee clusters. It seems that there is a lot of interest in moving to that area right now, which, hopefully would bring up the quality of the schools (which is not to say that they are not quality schools already.)

At any rate....you mentioned it is quiet....but is it still lively...kids, etc? I have a 5 and 2 year old...both boys and want them to be able to grow up w/ lots of other kids around. Let me know...thanks!
Our kids are all grown, but 4 of the 5 families on our block all have young children

We were looking into Cherokee High School, but then read some neg. comments on greatschools.net. which were rather frightening. So now we're considering looking into other Cherokee County School clusters.
My wife teaches at Creekview High School, this is the second year and is very technological advanced. Very good and qualified teachers there.

Hello everyone,

We are a young couple who are looking to move to the Atlanta area. One of us will be woking off of Power Ferrys Road. We are looking for a great safe area with great schools. We are looking for that great community feel (bridgemill). We have heard great things about the Canton/Holly Springs/Woodstock/Alpharetta areas. How is the commute time? We were hoping for some local feed back. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi! My husband and I are currently selling our home in Great Sky. We lived in a custom home for the last 6 years with our 3 children. The lots are approx. 1/3 to 1/2 acres but our home was on the corner so we always had plenty of room. I highly suggest you take a look in Great Sky - the ammenities are great, the location is central to most everything in Canton, the neighbors are friendly (lots of young moms), and we just loved it. My husband had a job transfer and his drive became too much so we bit the bullet and bought closer to Alpharetta. I'm not sure about the new homes in the back of Great Sky but, as far as the custom section (Starlight Climb), you will find superb quality for $300-400k. I wish you luck in your search!

There is nothing wrong about Cherokee High School. They offer plenty of AP/Honor classes. My daughter likes it more than private school.
