Im looking to relocating to Georgia, somewhere with lots of trees, space between homes, almost like plantation style living. Southern living. BUT I also want to be able to know ill be able to find a good police officer job around their too. I wouldnt mind driving at most 30 minutes to get to my job. Never been to Georgia would love to get insight of Georgias beauty.

There hasn't been plantation style living here in over a century and a half.

Smaller towns and cities have rural areas surrounding them which might afford you the space you desire. I have no FYI on law enforcement positions--many budget cuts in all areas of government in Georgia at present.

Athens, Carrollton, Cartersville, Madison, Dawsonville--several cities/towns that might be worth consideration.

Given your details, it sounds like you'd be happy in pretty much any rural georgia county, in any part of the state.

I guess the question could be better answered if you specified whether or not you care if the town/area you're looking for is within a certain amount of driving distance from ATL or one of the 2nd Tier cities.....close to the beach....mountains..etc.

It'd be helpful to know what your budget would be for this plantation. This will allow people to make suggestions, or to cross potential suggestions off the list.

I love Georgia, its great! Just stay away from southern Georgia and far away from collage park. (South Atlanta)! If your gonna be a cop, they pay you a little more for a reason! YIKERS I wouldn't even want to get out of my car in that area let alone be a TARGET in a Suite... SO word of advice Stay far away for south Georgia. Job's might be a little hard to find because of the states money issues but if you can find a job you would love... Canton, Woodstock, Cartersville and Rome. If you like trees and hills, its a little more Country, try blue ridge and ellija. Good Luck!

What is wrong with south Georgia? There are some lovely communities in this part of the state.

Thomasville
Moultrie
Valdosta
Brunswick/Golden Isles
Savannah
St. Marys
Darien
Dublin
Warner Robins

If the OP is desirous of 'plantation-style' living, it will be much easier to come by in south Georgia.

And BTW, it's Ellijay and College Park (which, BTW has some lovely gentrified neighborhoods).

WOW thanks to all for the suggestions. When i say platation style living i just mean open spaces, big old homes. King X you seemed to get me down to a T. I would love to be close to beaches and mountains, family oriented community. Crime i wouldnt mind due to the fact with that the more of me you would need. As for budget i would say around 200,000 for buying a house. Im looking for a cop job and my husband a government job since we both have military background.

Again to all thanks. I will look info up on all cities!

That narrows it down quite a bit then my friend. I'd say look into towns in Northeast GA (mountains) or Southeast GA (beaches)......plenty of rural towns to choose from in both areas
