I am thinking about moving to Georgia from Birmingham, Alabama. I am married with 2 kids. I am looking for a great area for my family. Also, I am a Certified Medical Assistant, therfore, I need to move to an area with great career possibilities. I am planning on returning to school to get my RN once I am settle in Georgia. Any suggestions!! I am open to any comments.

Like most of the country, Atlanta is suffering on the jobs front, so I don't think I'd say we really offer "great career possibilities" at the moment. Long term- and especially if you pursue the RN degree, you'll have some great opportunities, but things are very tough right now. Another thing to consider is that the RN programs at the local schools are in huge demand right now, and they're seeing 20-30 applicants for each open slot. While most of the schools are scrambling to build additional facilities to expand their programs, don't be surprised if you end up having to wait 2 or 3 years just to get accepted into a program.

Sorry to be so blunt, but that's reality at the moment.

Columbus area is ranked nationally for job growth. There are 3 major hospital expansions happening right now. I am sure you will be able to find employment there. Columbus State University has a great nursing program. It is undergoing a major expansion as well.
