You can see it from M-6 by East Paris, it's a giant pyramid all glass, you can see it for a couple of seconds then it's covered by woods. Who occupies that building, what is it?

It used to be the Steelcase headquarters. I think they vacated the building though. Not sure what it's used for now, if anything.

It was actually the Steelcase Corporate Development Center. Steelcase still occupies it to some extent. According to this article, Steelcase doesn't expect to completely vacate it until late 2012, unless they find a tenant earlier.

I did my internship at this building during the summer of 1990. It was known as the CDC. In the center of the building, when you walk in past the lobby, is a huge swinging pendulum with escalators on each corners. In this room are nice artworks.

They just don't need it. Steelcase has downsized tremendously from the high flying 90's. They have their main headquarters building on 44th St near Eastern, and also have Steelcase University right next door on 44th in one of their old mfg buildings (pretty sweet renovation if you ever get the chance to go to an event there).

I used to deliver sandwiches there while working for jimmy johns. Security there is quite tight these days. I didn't go there too often, but their assembly factory which is near there seems to be much more populated.
