We are looking at Grand Rapids as a possible place to live. We love the area but are not sure where to focus our efforts. We have kids (grades 4 and under) so schools are important to us. We are catholic but would like to look at both public and private. We live in Kansas City now and would be renting first. Any tips would be appreciated about schools, rentals, good companies to work for, areas to avoid, anything you have to offer we would love to hear. Thank you!!!

What kind of jobs are you looking for?
What kind of price range are you looking to pay for your house?

Please be a little bit more specific in what you want, it is really hard to point you in any sort of direction.

As Burgler said, that's a HUGE general question. If you're looking at renting a house for you and 4 kids, probably in the city of Grand Rapids would be a good place to start. Since they're 4 and under, all of the GRPS elementary schools are pretty good.

Location, location, location...I'd tell you to have a budget in mind first...then look at schools...then a home. I've lived here almost 30 years. If you can send me more specific details in what your looking for...I'll give you my honest opinion and suggestions for areas to look/avoid. Good luck!

hopefully you work in the medical, non-profit (religion), Retail/Service, or Manufacturing industry... otherwise you'll have a hard time finding work in this area.

There are also Montessori schools which are worth looking at.
