My family just bought a house in Hudsonville, Mi. The school district has assigned our children to attend South Elementary. I noticed there isn't a lot of reviews on the internet for this school. Compared to the other grade schools in the area, South Elementary is rated the lowest and I want to know why. Would you send your child to South?

*I can't ask neighbors because my family hasn't moved into the house yet.

Default NO problem

I would not worry at all about South Elementary. My kids went to Park and Bauer Elementary, and while there may be differences, it is still about a good school system. The education criteria is obviously the same, only differences would be geographic and teachers. Kids are kids, cliques are cliques, there are good teachers and teachers who are not as good in any school. Feel good about the fact that your kids are in a really good school system. Our family moved away for several years, and next fall my son will be back in Hudsonville, if that tells you anything.

No matter what anyone tells you about any particular school....if you plan on staying in the area and the school system, every kid will "meet up" at some point in the future. It all becomes one group of kids in the end. Middle school is Riley St. (or Baldwin), then it is the freshmen campus where everyone converges, and then high school. I know that is a ways down the road, but it goes fast!

Meanwhile enjoy the elementary school years, and as they say....Welcome to the neighborhood
