I guess I assumed all apartments/condos would come with an off street parking spot?

A lot of the ones right downtown do have off-street parking, but sometimes it's an additional charge. Outside of downtown, apartment complexes generally have off-street parking, rentals in homes in older neighborhoods, not always.

Signed her lease 2 years ago. But I guess that is right around when things were getting hot.

I would look at the East Hills neighborhood too. There are probably some home rentals (or converted homes-to-flats) there that you can get into for $900/mo. and it's a great neighborhood with Brewery Vivant and a few restaurants, as well as being midway between EGR (shopping, groceries, restaurants, lake) and Downtown (more bars, restaurants) and still close to the highway (Fuller Ave. I-196 ramp).

900 out of his price range for the downtown area? I have a hard time believing that one.

Show me something in downtown (close to everything as the OP states) and is "remodeled"/newer, that includes everything and parking for under $900.

I'm waiting.

My old unit is still renting out for $750/mo with parking. It's a rehab. Granted it's pretty much on the border of downtown and HH, it's still downtown and about a 10min walk from everything tops.

$900 might be tough, but it's not out of the question.
