Looking at housing options in Allendale. I find the area very charming. The only thing that concerns me is the commute to Downtown Grand Rapids. Can someone tell me what the drive is like on Lake Michigan Drive back and forth? Thanks!

Not long. Here's bus 50's schedule to infer drive time.

There is a lot of traffic on M-45, but it moves fast. There's only 4 or 5 traffic lights in the 20 miles from Allendale to GR. It will consistently take about 20 minutes. I used to make that drive a lot when I attended Grand Valley.

15-20 minutes. If your time is flexible just come in ten to twenty minutes early in the morning and miss it all. It's so simple. I leave downtown early too. it's amazing what being 20 minutes early does to the traffic!

Very easy drive and not really too much traffic at all, just watch out for those Ottawa County police officers, they suck almost as much as the Walker police haha
